cooool

(via Orangette)

for luck

This guy was hanging around since Chinese New Year (in February). I probably took this photo about a month ago, you can already see him aging. We kept him way past his prime, but he lived a long life and was never eaten. :-)

Ridiculously busy week. Things are wrapping up!

covers

I think most people will have already seen these cookbook covers by now, so this is just to remind myself of how amazing they are.

w.p.

This is the second time I've posted this on the Internet, but I love love love this photo. Will took it when he slept on a beach in Greece.

If you can believe it, this the second photo of a tiger on a clothesline he's taken. The first was from Mexico and is hanging above our couch:

scary things

A sneak peak of my final project. Did all the cooking and shot all the photos yesterday. The above isn't by any means a final choice, still waiting for film to develop.

I think the most difficult parts of a project are overcoming indecision and self-doubt, and having the confidence to proceed when all you anticipate is disaster. I need a cure for this ASAP.

(I love the onion in the background, such a nice colour!)

last few days

  • taught Will how to make rice balls (so blurry!)
  • ate a really good orange
  • made an after school snack; one benefit of being an adult is that after school snacks often include alcohol: Zubrowka and apple juice :-)
  • Anna and I bought a string of tourmaline to make jewelry, still have no idea what to do with them
  • finally picked up my order from Hiki; hoping everything is all right over there
A long weekend of cooking and homework/cooking as homework ahead!

soon

The trees are going to look like this soon.

A spread from probably the most beautiful book I own - Jahreszeiten by Blexbolex (Jacoby & Stuart, 2009).

Also: thanks to this book, I've realized how difficult learning German is going to be.

brief bloggin'

For 5 days I had a kind-of-food-blog (for a brief New Media assignment). It's not easy trying to prove that one is a healthy eater (especially when one isn't).

homey

I cannot wait to be outside for more than 1.5 hours a day (cannot wait for my program to be over). Staying inside has been nice though, especially with this guy to keep me company. (The "GOOD GRIEF" was a project, a play on birthday banners; made from vintage leather.)

With school over, that means I'm also going to have to be a real person with real plans, so I figured I would start a real blog to match.  :-)
