When we were in Portland, I walked across the street from our hotel and visited the just-opened woonwinkel . I was blown away by the quality of their perfectly curated products, most of them hand-crafted.
From their website:

A departure from the hard, slick modern aesthetic of the past, woonwinkel is new modern: warm, inviting, tactile, quirky. Modern with soul. Woonwinkel showcases independent designers and small companies from Europe and North America. Woonwinkel means “home shop” in Dutch.

on stage

Some great new things in the Fine Little Day shop!  I like the blue in this Magic poster.

I'm currently lying on a mattress in an attic in Portland, depriving myself of the most amazing food carts, restaurants and bars I have ever laid eyes on. (I've had constant-mystery/misery-stomach problems for over a week, and I've been in Portland for almost 5 days.)

Despite the fact that I don't know what it's like to eat normal food anymore, I'm still trying to figure out some ways in which I can turn around my diet. I will probably have to cut out the milk from my morning tea and only go to Duffin's on very special occasions.  Here are some good ideas that I hope I can take a crack at one day:

Went rummaging through my old room at my parents' today.

Some cool finds:
1. My old bead collection
2. A bunch of gold chains
2.5. Made a quick necklace with the above
3. Snoopy button up
4. Nail polish ("Mistique Pink")
5. Chunky plastic barrette
6. The Life of Primates textbook

good news

After weeks and weeks of hard work, emails, texts and face-palming, we did it. It's done.
We even bound it all by hand because we are that good.

space | time
issue one: late summer/early fall 2011
60 copies
bonus: a unique linocut by Anna-Lise Schmidt

All 40 pages are available to read online (but it doesn't hold a candle to the printed copy, trust us):

moving along

Sorry for the broken promise, but to be honest, I think this was worth all that silence.
I'm so excited, I think I'm gonna celebrate early.
